"Looking at the face today... I want to give it features not dissimilar to a Buddha figure I once saw in Thailand. I like the idea of mixing East and West, and also the serenity of the Buddha seems appropriate.
I'm having problems with the eyes. I think I've taken too much off in certain places and have to compensate by carving more deeply in and around the bridge of the nose. The eyes are always a problem. They'll probably remain closed."
